Banarsi Dass Arya College, Jalandhar Cantt., organized a webinar to commemorate 400th Birth anniversary of the ninth Guru, Guru Tegh Bahadur ji under the ambit of Dept. of Punjabi and Guru Nanak Studies Centre. The theme of the webinar was “Hind di Chaadar: Guru Tegh Bahadur ji” and the resource person was Sh.Jitendra Pannu, Former Chief Editor, Navan Zamana, Jalandhar. Sh.Jitendra Pannu expressed his views that Guruji’s martyrdom is concerned with humanity and universal goodness. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji was a symbol of great selflessness as he had given his life’s sacrifice to protect the interest of religions and set an example to fight for religious freedom. Principal Dr. (Mrs) Sarita Verma welcomed the participants and focused that the sacrifice and teachings of our great Guru forms the basis of National Integration of our country. She added that when we are living in a multicultural society, there is also the great need that we follow the teachings of our Great Gurus. She praised the efforts of Dr.(Mrs) Surinder Pal Kaur, Head, Punjabi Dept., for successfully conducting the webinar. The webinar was attended by a galaxy of over 100 scholars and participants from various institutions.
